Shaffer: Township of Pine Awarded $355,000 for Traffic Safety Upgrades

February 10, 2026

HARRISBURG – Rep. Jeremy Shaffer (R-Allegheny) today announced the Township of Pine received a grant to make safety improvements at several traffic signals across the township.

The Township of Pine was awarded $355,574 through a PennDOT grant to update traffic lights with flashing yellow arrows and install new controllers. The grant will also fund the replacement of mast arms at the intersections of Route 19 and Bradford Road, and Route 910 and Pearce Mill Road.

“We deserve safe roads and intersections all across our communities,” Shaffer said. “These upgrades will make intersections in the Township of Pine safer by replacing outdated signals with modern technology and improving infrastructure. I’m committed to working in a bipartisan manner to secure funding for projects like this that benefit the entire district.”

Shaffer is also hosting a grant-writing seminar in the Township of Pine on Friday, Feb. 27, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Pine Community Center. The seminar is for representatives from local municipalities and nonprofit organizations. It will feature presenters from multiple state agencies and other information to help explain the grant progress and drive awareness of all the funding opportunities available.

“I want to see our district maximize all of the grant opportunities,” Shaffer said. “My office is excited to host this seminar, and we will work hard so local leaders can successfully secure funding for projects that benefit our communities.”
